The Mum Desk
Support for you

Practical support for the busy seasons of motherhood.

Virtual research, planning and family-admin support for mums, whether you’re working, on leave or at home with your family.

When there are options to compare, arrangements to make and tasks you keep putting off, The Mum Desk can help with the legwork. You can book directly for yourself, without going through an employer.

Pregnancy, motherhood and maternity return

Thoughtful help for whatever is on your plate.

Explore flexible support for baby preparation, postnatal life, childcare, returning to work and ongoing family admin — from a single £79 task to more tailored packages.

Explore packages and deliverables

Whether you’re expecting a baby, adjusting to motherhood or returning to work, start with the task you would most like a hand with.

Preparing for baby

Perhaps you need wraparound care options researched for an older child, local family services compared or household renewals and forms organised before your due date. I gather the information, make agreed enquiries and bring the next steps into one clear plan.

Childcare & returning to work

Once you know your return date and working hours, I can research nursery or childminder options against your location and budget, compare availability and costs, and organise a timetable for visits, settling-in and drop-offs. You make the decisions; I help with the legwork.

Does this sound familiar?

Support for the task
you haven’t had time to tackle.

These are illustrative situations, rather than previous client stories.

Returning from maternity leave

“I need to get the arrangements in place.”

You have a return date, but childcare options, journeys and settling-in dates still need organising.

How I can help

Research options against your hours, location and budget; make agreed enquiries; and bring the next steps into a practical return plan.

A change in family life

“There are too many moving parts.”

A move, starting school or a change in circumstances has created a long list of decisions and deadlines.

How I can help

Research relevant services and processes, compare options and organise a timetable showing what needs to happen, when and who needs to act.

Everyday family admin

“These jobs keep slipping down the list.”

Appointment enquiries, renewals, forms and school-holiday arrangements are taking up space in your head.

How I can help

Agree a focused task list, gather information, progress authorised enquiries and give you a clear update on decisions and actions still needed.

How it works

One less thing to figure out.

01

Tell me what’s on your plate

Send a short message about what you need help with and any important dates. You don’t need to have it all worked out.

02

We agree a plan

I’ll reply by email to discuss your needs, my availability and a tailored quote. You decide whether to go ahead, with the work, timing and cost agreed first.

03

I get to work

I research, compare options and make the enquiries we’ve agreed. You receive a clear plan and next steps, with follow-up where agreed. You stay in control of decisions and spending.

Before you enquire

A few useful details.

Do I need to know exactly what support I need?

No. A short outline of what is taking up your time is enough to start. We can work out what would help together.

Where is support available, and is it all online?

The Mum Desk supports mums across the UK. Everything is delivered remotely through email, video calls and shared documents, including research into options near you. You attend visits and appointments yourself; the service does not include errands or home visits.

What will it cost?

Fees depend on the agreed work. I explain the proposed scope, timing and price privately before you decide. Additional work is agreed before it is undertaken.

Can you guarantee a place or an arrangement?

No. Providers confirm availability and eligibility, and employers decide workplace arrangements. I provide practical research, organisation and signposting, rather than childcare, provider vetting or regulated advice.

What should I share in my first message?

Your name, a brief description of the task and any important timing. Please leave out children’s full names, identity documents, passwords and sensitive personal information at this stage.

A brief outline is enough

What’s on your plate?

Tell me what you would like help with. A short message is enough to get started, and there’s no commitment until we agree to go ahead.
